Sighting for January 16, 2017

Jim Egbert

Ft Morgan State Historic Site
Baldwin County, AL

Wind southerly
Winds 10 - 15mph
Temps. Lower 60s - mid.70s

The sighting of only one Monarch at the Roscoe Rd site;made me wonder if the warm temps that followed the artic air from a couple of weekends ago;triggered their north movement out of the area?
In the last couple of years it has been the pattern that when the population that is more inland disappears the beach resident also are gone.I found the Ft Morgan population still strong;to early to leave.I’ll survey the area again over the next few weeks, until they make their departure.
