New Sighting
In just one hour we found 36 male Sachems and 10 females, all in excellent condition as if they had emerged this morning. Most were nectaring either on Hawksbeard or Birdsfoot Trefoil. Several mating pairs were seen. The nectaring sources were the same for the 10 male Fiery Skippers. Every patch of Trefoil we visited had Sachems. Washburn has hundreds of these patches. The 2 Gray Hairstreaks were an unexpected bonus. Both eluded the camera. We will try again tomorrow. D & D
