Sighting for April 10, 2016

Rick Borchelt

Patuxent North National Research Refuge
Anne Arundel County, MD

After a very hard freeze with temps in the mid-20’s F last night, today was sunny and cool with a high ambient air temp of 46F. Despite the chill, a number of butterflies were flying along the sand and clay roads at Patuxent North between 1 pm and 3 pm. Very few nectar sources: dwarf cinquefoil, some small cresses, dandelion, and spring beauty.
