Sighting for July 27, 2012

Henry Kindervatter

Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve
Bucks County, PA

I was looking for recently-reported Sleepy orange butterflies, but did not find them. I did see a Cloudless sulfur, however. It was flying back and forth across the parking area for about 2 hours. The butterfly field has perked up with recent rains after a couple of weeks of drought. Butterfly numbers were down for this time of year, but there was decent diversity of species in my 2 hours there.
