Sighting for September 2, 2014

This is the first Giant Swallowtail I’ve encountered in Essex County (12 miles from Manhattan) and/or in a populated area (an urban/suburban neighborhood). It came to my window flower boxes a few times about 5 feet away from me as I was drinking my morning coffee. Moved on too quickly to get a photo.
