I sent images to the president of our local North American Butterfly Association chapter and he forwarded them on to Nancy Greig of the Cockrell Butterfly Center. She emailed me directly and was very interested in my sighting. She told me the history of this butterfly in the Houston area— it has been about three years since any reported sightings.
