Schaus’ swallowtails appear to be having a good flight with almost 70 individuals being recorded so far this spring by researchers on the island.

Bahamian swallowtails, which returned to Elliott Key last year after a long absence, were also on the wing. The ones we observed appeared to be the Cuban subspecies, Papilio andraemon andraemon.
