Various sites in New Castle, Co
Garfield County, CO
Today I checked out various trails and parks in New Castle, including grassy fields, woods, the riverside and the roadside, finding large patches of Milkweed and knapweed. Most of the clumps of knapweed were covered in butterflies. I saw several wood nymphs, but I was not close enough to identify them.
Partly sunny, high 70’s, 9:55-12:50, elevation about 6000 feet.
