Sighting for June 30, 2022

Sunny, breezy, and buggy at 70° from 6:10 to 7:30pm. I’ve been checking this bog near our house regularly for early signs of Dorcas Coppers, and found this evening that they’ve begun eclosing. I stomped around the bog in knee-high gumboots while mobbed by mosquitos to inspect the Shrubby Cinquefoil and found Dorcas Coppers in at least two areas on the east side of the bog (all males, I think). I saw Silver-bordered Fritillaries at both spots too, although they were mostly concentrated at about half the length of the bog. Conservative counts are given for all three species observed.
