Mostly sunny, a light breeze and a very warm 69° as I began at 6:15pm and 66° when I finished at 7:30pm. I returned to this location after my sighting of a Common Ringlet here last week to see if I could find more Ringlets. After checking the same patch of tall grass and wildflowers without success, I crossed the road and walked along the fence that borders Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. In addition to some large piles of bear scat, I found lots of Greenish Blues among the wildflowers and at least four Common Ringlets. I saw two fritillaries - one a very bright orange and the other an orange-brown - but they both flew away without pausing to be photographed for identification.
