This power line cutting provides a strip of xeric habitat in the middle of an otherwise moist eastern hardwood forest. Besides butterflies, nesting Prairie Warblers were in the area today. Parking access is from a well-concealed dirt road just past the Hoosac School on Pine Valley Rd. The access road has deep ruts and is not suitable for parking after rain.
