Sunny and 72° from 11:40am to 12:20pm. This is a site of interest for me near our house so I’m trying to get there regularly. Today I took the bog loop trail at a near trot, though, with a horde of unrelenting mosquitos in pursuit that made my visit miserable. I ducked off the trail twice and went into the bog - less water-logged than usual because of our very dry weather - to check the shrubby cinquefoil for any signs of feeding by Dorcas Copper larvae. It might still be too early for them, as I saw no sign that any of the cinquefoil I examined had been nibbled at.
