This is a routine count done roughly every two weeks. This was the first spell of warm weather in several weeks and butterfly numbers were excellent. The numbers presented are just those in our transect sections. There were great numbers of Lindsey’s Skippers. Also, numerous species were mating: Common Ringlets, Lorquin’s Admirals, and Variable Checkerspots. An Acmon blue was laying eggs on Astralagus.
