John and Nancy Crosby

Cay Creek Wetlands & Adjacent Meadow, Midway, GA
Bryan County, GA

82 degrees, mostly sunny. We found skippers on coreopsis which was the most common nectar source before seeing them from the boardwalk on pickerel weed in the creek. The meadow had been partially mowed and perhaps sprayed as growth appeared suppressed and there were almost no nectar sources. We saw only a Varigated Fritillary oviposting in the meadow. All the Carolina Satyrs flew low and slow and appeared to be Intricata.
