Midday, hot (96F.) and humid, mostly sunny. Two hours in the field with visiting Steven Rosenthal. Nectar sources included rudbeckia, spotted knapweed, mountain mint and fleabane. Notable sightings included abundant Silvery Checkerspot and large numbers of Red-spotted Purple.
