Sighting for May 19, 2019

John and Nancy Crosby

Altamaha River Basin from Steelbridge Road to Cox Road from the Post Office in Townsend. GA Satyrs were located just East of Townsend Tract WMA in the Powerline wetlands.
McIntosh County, GA

Until today the only site for Georgia Satyrs per Pierre Howard of Georgia Conservancy was Paulk’s Pasture and the colony at Paulk’s was destroyed. Finding many GA Satyrs at this wetlands was a great find for Georgia! There were probably many more as we barely entered the wetlands. We also found a few in the ditches on both Cox and Steelbridge Road.
