Eight Dollar Road and the high ridges above the Illinois River
Josephine County, OR

Cathy and I worked the high Ridges above the Illinois River for a second time to see how the fritillary numbers were changing. Zerene Fritillary numbers are clinbing and Coronis are decreasing. This is the most Zerene Fritillaries we’ve seen since moving to Southern Oregon. Seeing a Western Cloudywing was a treat. The usual spot is one ridge west of this locale, so seeing one here shows that there may be others in the vicinity.
